Landlord Resources

The role of the landlord in the Housing Choice Voucher Program is to provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing to a participating tenant at a reasonable rent. As long as the unit is eligible, the Landlord enters into a lease with the tenant and enters into the HAP Contract with the HCV program. Your property is provided with a periodic inspection to ensure tenant and landlord compliance with HUD’s Housing Quality Standards.

Benefits for Landlords

Consistent and on-time rent payment. Housing Choice Vouchers will pay a portion of the contract rent through check or direct deposit (NY State HCV Program only) to the landlord’s bank on the first business day of the month.
